Obituary for Mabel "Beaner" Lorene Callis Burrows

Mabel “Beaner” Loraine Callis Burrows, 92, of Bedford, KY passed away from this life on April 8, 2020, at Bedford Springs Nursing and Rehab in Bedford, KY. She was born on January 8, 1928, to the late Flourney and Nattie Andrews Callis in Bedford, KY.
Beaner was a loving and dedicated mother, especially for her son Steven, whom she cared for tirelessly. As a testament to that, each day she awoke at 3:00 AM to cook a full meal for him. She was a devoted member of Sligo Baptist Church, where she served her Lord faithfully. For many years she lovingly managed the church nursery.
She loved to people watch, especially with her grandchildren at McDonald's and Dairy Queen. Beaner was known to drive slowly, with a trail of people impatiently driving behind her. She was a loving grandmother and a classy lady who was always impeccably dressed.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter-in-law Teresa Burrows of Pendleton, KY; two grandchildren Jessica McKnight and her husband Jack of Knoxville, TN, Noah Burrows of Pendleton, KY; many loving family and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
Mabel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jessie Leon Burrows, who passed away on May 21, 1980; two sons David and Steven Burrows; one brother James Callis, and one sister Ruth Callis Peak.
