Obituary for Paul C Daugherty

Paul C. Daugherty was born on November 24, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio to Hugh Brown Daugherty, Sr. and Bessie Lee Green Daugherty. Paul was raised in Columbus, Ohio where he graduated from North High School and then moved on to Apollo Truck Driving School in Lima, Ohio. Later which he joined the Association of Commercial Truck Drivers and became an owner/operator. Paul was a driving enthusiast and met his wife Ramona Clark during his travels through Kentucky, to which he married and settled in Kentucky shortly after.
When Paul and Ramona found each other, they knew there were destined for eternity. They married on August 4th and have spent the last twenty-eight years being each other’s best friend as well as cherished spouses to each other. Paul continued his love with trucking and could always depend on Ramona to be at the house, awaiting his arrival. Paul attended church at Providence Baptist Church, Ramona's lifelong congregation where he later became a member. Additionally, he was a member of the OOIDA trucking association. Paul was nominated for the Goodyear Highway Hero Award, winning runner-up.
Most of all, Paul was sought out to customize models, using his architectural skills. If it could be built into a model, Paul was the person for the job. He had a great love of trains, die-cast trucks, and firefighter collections. Many of his trains were based on real excursions that Paul and Ramona traveled. Paul and Ramona had two daughters who passed away in infancy. With the heartache still raw, they researched and found solace in studying foster care. They became involved in The Network (a foster care program) and participated in extensive training, where they were able to foster two children. Soon the two became a family of four. Paul and Ramona were very active with their children in several activities. It was so hard when Paul became ill and succumbed to illness on January 7, 2019, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital with his family by his side. Paul was 59 years old.
Paul leaves his loving wife of 28 years, Ramona Clark Daugherty. His two children; Chris and Hannah Daugherty, all of Bedford, Kentucky. Paul was one of five children; his remaining siblings survive him: Hugh B. Daugherty, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, Tracy L. Daugherty and his wife Connie of Columbus, Ohio, Christina L Daugherty West and her husband Glenn of Oakwood, Ohio, Kathrine M. Daugherty Hardin and her husband Gary of Galloway, Ohio. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Mother in law, Father in law, sister in law, and brother in laws. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Asliene Nicole and Caitlin Emily Daugherty.
